Virtual Games Where I Can Get Pregnant

Retrospective 2000-2010

This story was inspired copiously in House-wide digital: Retrospective 1997-2007 (personal blog EPX).

The problem of doing a retrospective is to discover that not much has happened in that period, but that's okay, I'll take this risk.

In 2000 the world was different from today ... Well, it certainly will in 2020 and thus is not a good cliche to begin with. Seriously now, in 2000 we lived in a boom in global economic optimism. And contained in this boom, was what we called "Dot Com Bubble" - the first pocket of inflation growth, with money strong pumping in several companies that had emerged in the emerging Internet.

And I was part of that context, because he worked in an emerging and promising dot-com, Conectiva, which formed the connective Linux. At that time, Linux was a revolutionary system that would dominate the entire market for computers, servers, desktops and mobile, the windows was an inferior product and doomed to failure. Saved the proper proportions, to work on Conectiva was like working at Netscape, obviously without the advantages of being in America.

[NOTE: Who wants to know more about this season boom and the company Netscape, I recommend watching the film documentary Code Rush 2000 available for download without violating the law. ]

The year 2000 was the peak of the bubble, because I saw the small company where he worked out of a large house in a suburban neighborhood of Curitiba for a seat in a building located in a nicer neighborhood and also saw the hiring boom that the company had to do, probably because of the investment contract. And so, the small and cozy to large and sparkling in less than a year.

From 2001 to 2002 bubble burst, there waves of lay-off everywhere, the market shrank professionally. I ended up venturing with some friends to start a business. It was a time I remember being bowled short of money in my pocket, but much empolgaçãoe hope for better days in another bubble.

For me, 2003 was a professional random adventures. On the one hand, I think it was a moment that signaled the return of money in technology, what was good for me and my nerdy friends.

In 2004 to 2005 I had a relatively stable, living in a comfortable place, did not have many mobile or bills to pay, had no car, I move with quality public transportation (Curitiba) and rode a bicycle more. On the other hand, was very professionally dissatisfied with what he was doing, I felt very limited. On the other hand, was very comfortable in Curitiba with friends and daily life in the city. After all, they were 8 years since I had gone to Bethlehem to have won it.

But the bug had bitten me adventure again. In 2005 to 2006, he considered his friends were all excited to work with Linux in a research office of Nokia, a technical foundation Nokia to set up for that. The work was promising, so I followed the flow of things and changed the city and employment. I stopped in Recife.

Professionally, the experience was very rewarding. I was able to gain professional maturity and especially to have again pleased with the work that produced fruit. But the truth is that I could not adapt to life in Recife. I always liked the lifestyle, "the South", and have gone to Recife and live the lifestyle of the northeast was in some ways, a throwback to me.

A pause to say that the years 2005 and 2006 were the "max" the decade.

In 2006 to 2007 I ended up in Porto Alegre (gave it to you, bad mood ...) Work on Earth. I was so excited to be able to have a more stable life (again) and can "raise my professional career" in a big corporation. In fact our expectations are always high (on your side and your contractor) and just the everyday is that you end up knowing how things really are.

The fact is that Porto Alegre is a very welcoming and always had a desire to live. The people of Porto Alegre is very proud, committed to the work, and are also more loose and relaxed, the conversation easier.

But 2007 was not a year no good for me, I had to completely adapt the routine aspects of a company that has a big corp. company and "dot com" (relax, freedom to access, smart colleagues). Coupled with personal problems, I can say that 2007 was a valley (deep) in my life.

The year 2008 was more positive, it was a rebuilding year personally and professionally. Financially it was also very positive. I was visiting my father, my sister and two nieces and, after some time living in the South, I could bring her mother to know all the southern states, SC, PR and SR. It was very good to restore my mental health.

confess that I found in 2009 a strange year, because all that came in November and pessimistic negative charge on the crisis that has plagued the world, in fact everyone was scared shitless, as they should have taken advantage of opportunities in Brazil, but that's another story. And look at the the beginning of 2009 was actually good.

In 2010 what struck me was a personal event, I I had to do emergency surgery to remove the appendix. I am now recovering, and such an experience for someone not by the book of Machiavelli, fires a trigger that what most said this was a retrospective of work and I need to continue to do other things.
